A LOCAL man has been awarded the Honorary Freedom of the Borough for his "tireless commitment" to the community.
Rob Bowker received the honour from the Mayor of Tamworth Cllr Chris Bain.
The Freedom recognises his work volunteering with a mobile food bank, fundraised to provide Christmas gifts for children in need and supporting a number of local community schemes.
Cllr Bain said: What an absolute pleasure it is to award this Honorary Freedom of the Borough to Rob as a recognition of his exceptional service.
"Rob’s unwavering dedication to our community is nothing short of inspiring. His selfless contributions, whether it's organising festive events for children in need, supporting families through difficult times, or offering a helping hand to those who are lonely, have made a profound impact on Tamworth.
"Rob brings love, hope and happiness to everyone and to everything he does for our town – and we are truly grateful for his heartfelt commitment and endless work."
The Freeman of the Borough is awarded to an individual who has given Tamworth an exceptional service over a significant period of time in a voluntary, professional or philanthropic capacity.
The first admission to honorary freeman in Tamworth was made in 1951, when Alderman Frederick George Allton received the honour.
