RESIDENTS in the Spital ward are being urged to make sure they are registered to vote in a by-election.
Tamworth Borough Council will see its newest member elected on 5th March.
The poll comes following the death of Cllr Marion Couchman in December.
Voters must be on the electoral register to be able to cast their vote – and the deadline to do so is midnight on 17th February.
Stephen Gabriel, Returning Officer for Tamworth Borough Council, said:
"If you’re not registered, you will not be able to vote in these elections in March. Registering to vote only takes five minutes and can be done online."
People can apply online at www.gov.uk/register-to-vote
Those intending to vote at polling stations in March will also need to show photo ID. A list of accepted forms of ID is available on the Electoral Commission website. Residents can also apply for free voter ID.
