THREE people have been arrested following a knifepoint carjacking in Fazeley.

The incident happened at 1.30am on 29th January at a location off Lichfield Street.

Three people walked up to the car and opened the doors before threatening a person in the vehicle with a knife. They then drove off after he got out.

The victim suffered minor injuries in the incident.

A Staffordshire Police spokesperson said: “Officers in the area responded to a sighting of the car and followed it on to County Drive.

"The officer, who was in the area at the time, was single-crewed, but managed to detain all three people inside the car.

“A knife and class A drugs were found inside. Three men, aged 48, 37 and 35, all from Tamworth, have been arrested on suspicion of robbery. They will be questioned in custody.”
